I am going to attempt to tell you how I believe the year of 2017 is going to begin, because I think 2016 has been a bumpy road for us but we have made progress. I also believe, in my opinion, we have all made progress because of the bumps and because of advocacy. Yes, there have been a losses, we honor & lift those in Memoriam – you will forever be in our hearts & minds- and those losses both personal in our Support community families/ #GPnation and for some of us close family loss. I truly believe that every crisis has an opportunity to grow or stagnate – a choice – or we go backwards that’s a choice or we collect the traumas, we let them build upon us to take us backwards again – that is a choice. If we step outside of ourselves just a little… it becomes easier to do- if we use prayer, meditation or whatever you want to use or a combination of both. But if we step outside ourselves then try to look/ gaze upon what we are doing and how we are doing it – analyze. If you choose therapy or talk therapy or counseling or self-help books whatever method you choose but if you’re on this road of chronic illness you need a coping tool of some sort to help you maneuver through all of these twists turns, bumps and keep yourself in a mentally strong place- that has to take over for the physical part that is not always as strong as you would want it to be. So with that said I’m going on to say, “I believe 2017 is going to be filled with magnificent, amazing, and unimaginable possibilities for our community! As our community encompasses so many other aspects of other communities, verify those communities, touch our community, and so many other facets, it is going to be an amazing year!” 2017 is going to be a year that has so much of a possibility to be grand it’s almost impossible say everything I think we have the capacity to do because if you step back and see the inklings, the pieces that we have scattered amongst our community and what we have in piece by piece been throwing out, those pieces are going to start coming together, and y’all?We are going to see how all these tiny pieces are going to come together into fruition for the most amazing support and advocacy year we’ve ever had because we’ve been making progress and that progress is been building upon itself and that is why I tell you 2017 is going to be an amazing year. I also am of the belief that you claim what you want so lets claim what we want in our lives & thereby begin to act upon those beliefs, thoughts, visions, hopes, we have for ourselves & our community!
Again 2017 is going to be an amazing year! We will advocate & support in new ways! We will begin to see each other as the hidden treasures we are & how truly uniquely gifted each of us are! We will see a year of bonding because of the realization that each of us are going to help each other shine & in doing so we shine more because there is only one of each of us! Therefore if I help you I become brighter too … Every action is a gift without expectations- no tit for tats… Just love! I believe this writing came to me now for this reason. My contribution to the community is in large part is writing for y’all & advocacy for us all.. Not everything I do is good.. But I try. I know my limitations.. The other contribution is encouragement to see your beauty & truth. I try to be the mirror reminding you of your gifts.I am human so I do not always succeed but I try. We have amazing, truly giving people in this community! As we watch 2017 unfold as it slowly blooms from its bud, like a rose bud, you will see & even sense the smell of true kindness & joy of advocacy 🌹
