I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Emily Dickinson, 1830 – 1886
I’m Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there’s a pair of us!
Don’t tell! they’d advertise – you know!
How dreary – to be – Somebody!
How public – like a Frog –
To tell one’s name – the livelong June –
To an admiring Bog!
I adore poetry the ins and outs
Which innately, elegantly tells each of us
What, who, where, we are, and never completely leading us to be
more or less than who we were meant to be
I suspect that if you sat with me, Nelson, Leo, Gandhi, or Emily
It would all come to the same place
If our hearts are true
Never wishing to be more or less
Just wanting to take the next step
From our lil step
Or be the cog under your heel to help
You get across
Our spines would gladly be the bridge
We know the truth about it all and
It is not us but the journey
Getting us all there
We all bend along the way
With the Faith of unbridled unbroken holding all the
The nobodies and the most brokenness of us all
Our overcoming will be overcome
While we illuminate others
From a bog of blogs Shhhhh
We are the cogs! ✨✨✨
