As we pray, meditate, & think
Yes, our very, very, American definition celebrates our spirit of prayer, meditation, or pure logic and/any of the aforementioned mixture. We celebrate freedom to do whichever combination or none of the above, as we so choose.
Our framers took all into account, since they themselves were a mixture of our varying belief, non-belief or an unsure belief aka agnostic our ancestors-humanity.
It is the very American privilege, we are about to engage or not engage in, on November 3rd 2020. Although, like all of you, I too have an opinion about not engaging, please do not complain about anything at all, involving government or civic related services. Which will be very difficult to achieve unless you find a way to survive without water or air. Then go on to not avail yourself with any type of transportation of any kind. I believe it is commonly referred to by many, as “living off the grid” I won’t belabor the point too far about the work you have undoubtedly done to support yourself and your family, in turn the taxes with services paid in – again another choice. Most of us live life in truth. Not taking cash for work without paying taxes or cheating to avoid paying any taxes. This is our life of America- our choice.
Our shared American heritage is an experience every American treasures because of our choices, ability to express ourselves, and act upon these choices through our most sacred acts – our vote! November 3, 2020 Whether Democratic, Republican, Independent, Libertarian or any other label, we are e pluribus unum – out of many one. It is our Declaration of Independence
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That, to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That, whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.
Today’s “Declaration of Independence” would of course say
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all women-men are created equal,
That opening line was many generations ago when everyone didn’t have a right to vote, but the next lines in the “Declaration of Independence” built the foundation for our constitutional amendments. It is this brilliance former slaves & women would find their truths to become self-evident & equal!!!
